Future Shock Music: Hurricane Sandy relief Concert

             Kanye West & Paul McCartney
                             Headline

I think I now might have herd it all, Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney are set to take center stage together to be a night that will soon never be forgotten. The two will headline a concert to benefit all that have suffered through the travesties that was Hurricane Sandy.

This epic event is set to take place on 12-12-12, on no other stage than MSG (Madison Square Garden). The concert which is now being dubbed the "12-12-12 Show" will also being bringing live performances by bands The Who, Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and many others, all of which have deep routed ties to the east coast. This concert could not have come at a better time, with relief few and far in between this will be a night of smiles and memories. Something the east coast is in dire need of.

Hurricane Sandy came like a thief in the night stealing over 100 lives and leaving millions without shelter or power in some of darkest moments known to the United States. Still to date, 120,000 people from the tri-state (NY, NJ ,PA) area are as of Sunday still without power. This is not taking into account the countless business's that are still unable to conduct "Business as usual." Many of these structures have been so badly damaged that power can not yet be brought back to the them.

So the next logical question is whats next?

For the time being utility crews are working around the clock to bring life back to this dead region, and support continues to pour in from all corners of the world and now this.

Most still remember the last time a relief concert was put on for the city of New York. This coming in the aftermath of 9/11 and was brought to view in large part by Harvey Weinstein.

Mr. Weinstein is set to do it all over again, attracting major headlining artists form all over the world in hopes to bring joy & life  back to the the mean streets of NYC. All proceeds raised will be handed over to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which will then provided aid to those of the tri-state region.

Event coordinators James Dolan, John Sykes and Harvey Weinstein released this statement:
"12-12-12 is shaping up to be a showcase of music royalty. The response from the entertainment community to help those most affected by Hurricane Sandy has been nothing short of astounding. We expect to announce additional legendary performers in the near future and we are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be directed to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast."
